October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

The month of October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month with October 15th being Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. This time of year is huge in our community. We are all unfortunately in this club and we have this time of year to talk about our children and celebrate their lives, spreading awareness. However, we will do this all year long!

Charles and I are new to this community and we have seen so much love and support from those within. We are a strong group of parents who have the toughest job on earth: being a parent to an angel. We unite together to embrace each other when someone is having a worse day or hold newly bereaved parents and angels in prayer when someone reaches out. We would love if no one had to join this group. No one should ever have to bury their child. We are here for future parents who don’t even know they will need us.

There are many ways to honor our children, especially during the month of October. There is the Wave of Light where we light candles for our little angels on October 15th at 7pm no matter where you are in the world. There is the Capture your Grief project where you write about a different key subject every day. There are also many Remembrance walks.

Remembering and honoring our children is something we will do all year long for the rest of our lives. However, it is amazing to have a specific month dedicated to our angels and spreading awareness. Charles and I never imagined we would be doing this for Sophia. No parent does. We are honoring, remembering and celebrating her beautiful life and we will continue to do that for the rest of our lives.
